The merry murderesses of the Cook County Jail are heading to Eastbourne in the hit musical ‘Chicago’. Hot on the heels of a West End Production that only ended in January 2019, EODS are bringing the roaring twenties to the Royal Hippodrome Theatre. This exciting musical, written by John Kander and Fred Ebb, who were responsible for ‘Cabaret’ and the current hit musical touring the UK ‘Curtains’, tells the story of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly who made murder an art form and became stars.

The film of the musical, which starred Catherine Zeta Jones, Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere won numerous plaudits, including the Best Picture Oscar and the musical has also featured in the recent TV series ‘Fosse/Verdon’ which told the story of its original star and the Choreographer and Director Bob Fosse. Come along to the Hippodrome and see this classic musical in its first visit to Eastbourne in over 30 years.

This amateur production of “Chicago” is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH LTD, a Concord Theatricals Company
