EODS has been entertaining Sussex for over 100 years with a wide range of different shows, from plays to much loved musicals and open air Shakespeare in the summer.
The three sections of EODS (Dramatic, Operatic and Junior) work together to present fantastic performances every year which are well rehearsed, and feature some incredibly talented people. Some of these actors have gone on to professional roles and have become extremely successful which makes the society incredibly proud.
EODS has the feeling of a close knit family, and encourages new members to get involved whether it be on stage or working behind the scenes. There are also regular social events which make membership much more than "getting together for an occasional show." Our shows incorporate the assistance of professional theatre staff to provide fantastic sound, lighting and scenery at two of the best theatres in the South East, The Devonshire Park and Congress theatre in Eastbourne.
One of the best things about seeing an EODS show is the price! Tickets are normally under £14 for the best seats, which is a massive saving from your typical professional show! Why not come and see one of our shows... we are sure you will be impressed!
EODS had a very succesful 2012 with a wide range of shows from hilarious plays such as "Bouncers" to the big, all singing, all dancing musical "Guys and Dolls" and the classic shakespeare performances of "Macbeth" performed in the open air at the beautiful Italian Gardens.
Our 2013 schedule started with "Of Mice and Men" and continued with "Sweeney Todd" in May. The next show on our agenda was of course our superb open air Shakespeare production in the summer, which was "The Tempest" this year! Next up was the a dramatic production, "The Pillowman" followed by the EODS Youth group with "A Christmas Carol" in October.
